Bruce Mintzer Real Estate Development has owned and operated the Grove at Johnston Park for 30 years an affordable housing community near the corner of Grove Ave and Las Palmas. As the thirty year anniversary approaches, Bruce has been looking ahead pondering ways to serve more people during these challenging times. More recently Bruce’s next door neighbor St. Paul Church of God in Christ, owned by the Pastor Joyner, has come to his attention. Pastor Joyner has been serving the homeless in a number of ways ranging from weekly food banks to, to tiny houses, to operating a shelter for runaway boys and girls. The most recent of such projects has been a new cabin community sponsored by the city aimed at serving youth who have aged out of the foster care system. The project, sandwiched between the church and the Grove, cleverly utilizes a waste piece of land to house 50 young adults who might otherwise be on the street.

We at Bruce Mintzer Real Estate Development, are impressed by the scope and speed at which the project has been executed, and have been actively meeting with the Pastor to discuss ways we can support each other in our shared goals going forward. You could call it an alliance of sorts. Watch this space as we move forward together in our Neighbors Alliance to Help the Homeless.
