One of the best perks of this job is being able to offer affordable housing to veterans who have served our country. One such resident, Rae Cavana, wrote this touching poem for Bruce, which we have reproduced with her permission.
There’s an apartment just for me.
Bruce says it is number twenty three.
Wow!! I was extremely happy!!!
All I wanted was a home you see.
HUD-VASH showed that possibility.
A special team made it a reality.
Partnered with Bruce to help vets like me.
Bruce is wise and speaks with such sincerity.
I trust this man; He’s honest and true.
He and Beth help our red white and blue.
Yet not a lot of people do!
Bruce is a real blessing too.
For helping me and helping you.
Before this, what were we to do?
We all asked, but no one knew.
Wouldn’t that make you blue?
Every James, Robert and Sue,
Needs shelter; That’s proven, its true.
Especially when their “tour of duty” is through.
Just like Sarah, Victor and Lou,
Their place to live was long overdue.
Now their happy because of “you-know-who”…
That man that helps veterans like me and you.
To Bruce we owe a huge THANK YOU;
For life changing help and happiness too!!
We could not spell success without U.
So from each of our hearts directly to you.
